Accused of murder, teenager Sam protests her innocence; claiming a malevolent presence in her family home is responsible. Unable or unwilling to accept her story, the police dismiss it. But as events take a sinister turn, they’re forced to reconsider.
About the Director
‘Homonym’ is Lily’s second short film as a director. She also wrote the script which was a finalist at Women X Film Festival 2024.
Prior to this she directed the psychological horror ‘The Eyes of Marge’ receiving a nomination for Best Director (Unrestricted View 2024) and with the film winning Best Horror (Wigan & Leigh 2024), Best Thriller (Horrorigins 2024), Best Cinematography (Kino 2024), Best Sound Design (Unrestricted View 2024), Best Colourist (Unrestricted View 2024) and a nomination for Best Horror at Brighton Rocks.
Her first film as a writer, the dystopian short ‘A.R.P.U.’ won the Grand Jury Prize at Berlin Sci-Fi Film Festival 2021, Best Fantasy at the Discover Film Awards 2021, was nominated for Best Short Film at Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival 2021 and was screened at Manchester Film Festival 2022 amongst others.
As a writer, Lily is currently developing her debut feature with the BFI. She developed the treatment for the project as part of the BFI’s Early Development Fund and has subsequently been awarded Development Funding. She was nominated for Film London’s 2023 Lodestars Awards for the project, received a scholarship to Sundance Collab’s screenwriting course and has been supported by the Gane Trust.
