In 1970s Essex, sixteen-year-old Tommy follows a new friend to the home of an eccentric former cameraman for a night of drink, drugs and magic. As the evening unfolds, a growing sense of unease begins to replace the excitement.
About the Director
Gary Kent is a UK-based filmmaker and Steadicam operator with over a decade of experience working in film production. His directing influences include Shane Meadows, Mike Leigh, Ari Aster and Gus Van Sant, and he is particularly drawn to naturalistic performances, morally complex characters and unsettling human behaviour. Bruised Sky was inspired by Hannah Arendt’s observation: “The sad truth is that most evil is done by people who never make up their minds to be good or evil.”
