About the Director
Jasmin Nunes, a New York-raised filmmaker of Jamaican and Irish descent, serves as writer, director, and producer of Ackee and Saltfish. Her ethos as a storyteller is to address the need for a wider spectrum of stories to be seen and for new creative perspectives. She vows to change the way films regard casts of people of color and bring regularity of diverse backgrounds seen on film screens.
