About the Filmmaker: Josie is a writer and director from Somerset, now based in London. Her latest film ‘fishing’ (also with ‘Blue Violet’ writer/actor Esme) won the Oscar-qualifying Grand Jury Prize for Best Narrative Short at Slamdance Film Festival 2024. She was a finalist for ‘Best British Director’ at the 2022 British Short Film Awards. In 2023 she was selected for the Director’s UK Inspire scheme, to be mentored by BAFTA-winning director Tom George. All of her projects ensure at least 50% representation for women, trans and non-binary people in cast and crew. She trained as an actor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the National Youth Theatre.
